Awkwafina
Awkwafina She is an American performer and actor who started her career by performing clever hip-hop raps that addressed racial and sexuality with a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came via the trumpet. After that, she took the classical and hip-hop genres. While in college, she took classes in Women's Studies and Journalism. Then, she even had one semester studying Mandarin while in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating that she switched her focus on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success over the Internet which led to her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also included songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The latter was tied to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. In addition to being a writer and musician as her credentials, she decided to focus on becoming the role of a third-party actor. She has appeared in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she was able to land breakthrough parts in several prominent films such as Dude ocean's 8.8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
